First of all, I know how difficult this is, but maybe .... it's an idea, a wish..

During the last days I made a lot of patches to comuincate with a tablet. I use TouchOSC and everything works well.

But, it needs such a time and if you want to change something you feel how static such a solution is. The roundtrip between the TouchOSC Editor, the tablet, the OSC messages and their processing in Usine is annoying.

I tested a solution to use a remote console on my tablet. The windows internal remote console and VNC. Yes, this could be a solution. But I run into problems, cause the sizing of the windows display has problems, but the principle works.

So my idea was, why not mirroring the IB to send direct the VNC protocol or something similar, there are a lot of different solutions available, to mirror infos to a remote console?

I know this is not a simple task :P

An alternative idea:

A special "output" patch lib, which allows to define some simple controls and send this to an app, which know how to display it on a tablet. I tried something like that with a reveiver, developed in processing and a simple java host implementation and I was able to create dynamicly 2 simple controls a button and a led :-) This is not the "transfer the IB" idea, but it could also an idea for the next years. Cheap Android tablets < 100 Euro are very nice controllers. Not usable for all purposes, but for simple "control a parameter" tasks they work very well. I control my complete looper environment with such a tablet and this works very well.

Please understand this post as a wish or a nice to have sometimes, in the future.

P.S.: In the next weeks I will reload my processing demo and try to transfer it to Usine. Could be a nice project and I see a realistic chance to get it running.

Get a tablet that runs Win7 and use the network options of Usine to open a 'remote' version of the patch (if it's too heavy for the tablet).
I can understand you don't want to buy a new tablet... :-(
but still, this combination would rock & would do anything you described and more...

A cheaper but perhaps more complex and only a possible solution is trying to run Ubuntu on your Android(?) tablet. Hollyhock has not yet really been confirmed to be working under Ubuntu, but chances are it does (there is 1 topic in the forum giving some hope, but never got officially confirmed). Same with Ubuntu on your Android device. It seems to be working but never tried it myself.
I don't know if Usine's networking would be available then either... Could be interesting to try out but
maybe it's too much of a hassle anyway... :-)
good luck & happy patching!

A 7" win tablet for 89 Euro? :-) A windows tablet using as controller is overkill....

I own serveral Android tabletts (5x) for control a Arduino/Raspberry/Windows framework via OSC :-) The big advantage is the price.....

for the price of one windows licence I can buy two Andoid tablets. Ubuntu? That means running Usine on a ARM Processor! That's not possible with good performance. You must run a sort of a virtual machine on such a small device to emulate a Intel processor. There are some expensive Intel based Androids available, but then I can buy a windows tablet and use your first solution :-) :-) :-)
