the maximum area is not enough when using 4 speakers, the speakers area should be recovering each over quite a lot to avoid "holes" in the diffusion

cheers

They do recover, just don't trust the view !
Actually, the size of the dots area is not at all representative of the real area, it only makes hearing and control difficult ;-)

A better representation would be either NO view at all (only the value), or, of course, an accurate view...

Thank you Jean Marc !

that's what I noticed now that I experimented in depth with the surround panner !

Still I'd like to be able to have a control over the speaker position.

I did quite a lot of experimements with the quadratic distance module (that allows the speakers position to be controlled) the goal being to have the space dimension of music becoming as expressive as possible in realtime !

Didnt know you were a Holyhock user : great !

I am not really a user, more a "follower", since I don't play live music (and when I do a little, I finally use things simpler than Usine...).

But I will be happy to see improvements on the surround panner. It will be good for Usiners.

unfortunately, the size of speakers doesn't fit to field area.
In the latest version, it's half smaller.
It's choice because I realize that with big speakers it was hard to change their positions with an acceptable precision.

OK, it-s working fine for me now !

Perhaps could you (we) add a simple button switch to show/hide the field area ?
It is not always usefull to see it, and whatever its size, can be very confusing with a high number of speakers.
It could by hidden when positionning the speakers and shown if we need to set the area parameter ?
So it could have the right size and be an aid when setting the area ?

HI !
Thats a good idea Jean Marc . I implemented a switch that multiplies with the desired area value.
works fine but the speaker location should be locked otherwise the speaker position resets as you operate the switch...

if we could control the speaker position with two arrays (one for X, one for Y coordinates)

Why ?
- because I'm using different speaker configuration and for now I need one patch for each config. with those arrays I could set different speaker config from one patch.
- because I could set speaker angle more efficently than by hand
- because I'm planning to have moving speakers !

Moving speakers? That sounds like fun!
