Script editor refresh someday?

This is so far and away the ugliest part of what has become a very elegant program.
I have gotten to the point where I copy and paste into vscode even when all I need to do is add a semi-colon to the end of a line.
The kerning is so weird it often looks like there's a space in the middle of a word. Sometimes the cursor wanders off to the next character entirely, but it's never right between the characters where it's supposed to be, even in normal times. When I try to indent, it tabs me right out of the window.
There are other details, (like Pascal key words being color coded even when they are in quotes) that are unprofessional, but don't really impact work. Find and replace might be way too much to ask....
But reliable cursor position, normal kerning, and indenting with tabs would mean I can at least do minor edits in the editor.
No big rush... but maybe someday? Or maybe just support for an external editor like we had once upon a time?
