Hi, I think it would be nice to have some Oscillator modules in Usine, so it would be possible to build synths from scratch (or are they already in there, and I can't find them ?!)
thanks

As you have probably noticed, Usine isn't a modular Soft Synth.

The main reasons are:
- there are a huge collection of modular synths as VSTi,
- built a modular synth is very complex and I could spend all my life to make a poor imitation of, for example, NI Reaktor or synthedit.
- I don't have the knowledge to make good sounding generators. I'm not an expert in wave-form modelisation (far away..)

Of course I could implement easily some oscillators with the restriction:
- poor sound...
- monophonic (actually the audio engine in mostly monophonic)

for the rest I need more time...
I know that I have to improve the ADSR and envelop generators, implement a small and easy wave-form synth, etc.

Thanks for the answer! yes, I totally understand about Usine not being a modular softsynth... I said "synths", but I should've talked more in term of "sound generator" : I think some basics and albeit not so great sounding oscillators would be useful to create some "glitchy" sounds and patches, and they would allow Usine to produce his own sound (in addition to the MIDI and sample players); I don't think Usine should become a modular synth, but for some experimental and glitchy stuff some basic oscillators could be handy

I've made a simple osc generator with synthedit for usine. You can download it in the add'ons section.
