I can't find anything in the manual. I see that if a VST is dropped onto a patch or if a patch is loaded from disk then the patch gets named but how can I edit the name or name a patch that I have made?
Cheers,
James

Right Click on a patch to name it.... :) Or "save patch as" to have an internal patch name.

Right click where on the patch? Not on the patch itself, that brings up the module browser, not in the grid - that selects the patch and brings up the interface, right clicking on the interface or where the name should be on the interface of the patch does nothing...

save the patch (not the workspace) and name it...unless I really don't get what you are saying?

You said "Right Click on a patch to name it....", so I ask where on the patch do I click to name? - for a patch used once that is only relevant to the current workspace so I don't want to save the patch .

maybe you can create a special dir named "temp" or whatever and save it here ...?

if you need only a visual feedback in grid mode, you can also use
ctrl+alt+C
to add a color to this patch ...?

@gurulogic , don't see what you say about "right click " here...

gurulogic said right click on a patch ;)

effectively, if you right click in the patch view, it bring up the browser.

but maybe it's not a patch but a track you want to rename ?

arf...ok, i see.

For me, there isn't sub patch any more (just some patch inside other patch)...but it's maybe because i don't use the grid

So what dullard is asking is in fact : how to rename a grid slot ? right ?

I think it's not possible, grid slot are automatically named with the patch you insert in.

And if you create a new fresh patch in a grid slot, it just has no name !
Has the patch container isn't accessible for this patch (first level of the grid slot), the only way to name or rename it is to save it.

Maybe a feature request for a 'rename' entry in the patch menu ?
(i believe some old version has it and it was removed...)

Yes, thanks Martin, renaming the grid slot is exactly what I was asking... I'll save the parent patches in a temp folder for now but I humbly make a feature request for being able to rename them. Without names, the workspace I'm working on has become hugely difficult to comprehend.
Thanks for the help all.
