I'm trying to wrap my head around a mute / solo system across 20 Usine tracks.
What I have so far is the abiility to solo on any one one track, and if I toggle solo on, off and on again on another track I can solo multiple tracks, but I need it to work the first time I engage the solo switch.
Also working how I want it at this point is that the original mute state of a track is unaffected by solo...

Here's what I have (the send bus is audio because multiple data send buses cannot have the same name, and this seems to work ok...?)

Here's a sneakpeak at what you would be helping me make.. (not that there is Anything at all wrong with the normal Usine mixer but I think this looks better and uses more cpu too :) )

those channel strips looks good. I am also trying to implement a solo feature across multiple patches.

yup they look very good!,

relating to your problem, i dont catch why solo and mute should be somehow linked, what is the reason you don't controls 20x mutes and 20x solos in a separate way? by default you can solo multiple tracks no? i must miss something, forgive me..

note sending to audio buss use more Cpu than sending to a data bus, as it sends 256 values vs 1 if your bloc size is ie 256., this X20 could have a noticable difference. can't we use same datasend bus name if they are in a different subpatch? i don't rememer..
if then i would make a simple data out of subpatchs 'solo", all going to a single solo send bus maybe..

hmmm, I guess I am trying to conserve resources by controlling only one volume module with each mute and solo. I suppose I am already using so many volume modules, what's another 20...it would probably be good to be able to totally bypass a mute with a solo anyways.
I'll try it like that, but without the patch in front of me, I seem to think the combination mute / solo wasn't really my problem because even if I don't use the mute I have the same problem...I think I also tried a Has Changed module in place of the lower B=1 module to stop the solo switch from affecting the current patch via the solo receive bus, but that didn't help at all, as I recall. I'll check again in the morning.

I'm pretty sure same name send data buses is not working, maybe in the next beta?

anyways, now I have cue and 4 sends instead of 3. Is 16 stereo / mono chanels, 4 submixes with xfade + return channels for each send enough? :)
Also, any suggestions for a lightweight good sounding vst eq?(free) I like the one I am using now but it is a bit heavy on memory.

oh yup that make sense, i thought you were "controling" usine mixer, in fact you make your own with volume audio, so indeed, having 20instead of 40 could be better...

seems a very cool mixer! mmm no sugg for EQ, i like sonalksis3, but they are not free..i think this is a question for amiga909, the vst bible ;)

OK, this is getting ridiculously complicated and I'm at my wits end. I am almost ready to say it is not possible, or if it is it has to be totally rethought?
Now I can solo individual tracks but un-soloing tracks still doesn't work properly. I'll attach my patch in case anyone gets inspired for a silly challenge. You need at least 3 tracks to test properly...

Hi,
Have you thought about analyzing a mixer block diagram ? If they do it electricaly I don't see why it should not be possible to reproduce it with Usine. An example here : http://www.mackie.com/products/1604vlz3 ... LZ3_OM.pdf, page 34
About the Eq : I've looked for one and tested a lot, from free to very expensive (trial of course ;)), and I haven't found free plugins that convinced me... I must say that I was trying to replace my Avalon 737 so it's quite unfair ! The best thing to do is to dive into to choose your own according to your tastes... and what about adding a High pass ?

lol, I understand Usine better than I do schematics..but that is a good idea! The problem is perfectly solved now and soon I will upload an example...stubborn power wins again!

The EQ I'm using for now is BootEQmkII ( http://varietyofsound.wordpress.com/200 ... ease-info/ )
I'm not so much using it because I can say whether I like the sound of the EQ or not, but it's free and the controls are convenient for my patch. It uses a lot of memory for 16 instances so I should probably find something lighter to use...

Edit:
Solo example is now in addons section...
