start playing on activation

hi i'd like to start playing for 1 time a file in a sampler when i recall the patch on a line.
i tried to configure the sampler in play button mode and put a on activation on the input but it doesn't work.
how can i do ?

It works for me just jumping back and forth between the sampler patch with an OnActivation connected to the play inlet, and another patch on the same track (in grid mode). Anything else special in your patch or workspace that might interfere?
