I have several buttons feeding into a memory recall inlet. The buttons can be configured to output different number values. I only want to use the "on" value of the button. I have tried clicking on "null event if off" but the buttons are still toggling between a zero value and the "on" value. if i hit a button that triggers a 2 i dont want it to trigger a zero. HOw can I achieve this?

I don't know what you mean by "memory recall inlet." but the nul event if off option works for this , for example on a fader or a preset manager..?

in this example the buttons toggle between a value of 2, 3,4 and 0. I want the zeros ignored. When i click a 12 step button i dont want a zero value sent.

it seems as if the null event if off is not working... is there another way to ignore the zero values?

i spend a moment to understand, but many of the buttons in you patch are not set to "nul event if off" ?
once done , works here...

thats the simple wa with buttons, otherwise in other cases you can use 'stop if equal 0' or 'pass if different than 0' using pass/stop event modules and logical
