Error : PluginWrapper Synth1 VST SaveData WriteBinaryStream Out of memory
[7:11:50 PM] Error : Internal : PluginWrapper Synth1 VST SaveData WriteBinaryStream

what does this mean? I get this message when trying to save synth 1 with a preset manager set to workspace.

I had to give up on using synth1 with usine, as it maintains 1200 presets, and usine seems to have trouble with that many. Took a full minute to load the vst in v5 on my computer.

Sorry to see v6 is not cooperating better. You can turn off 'select presets from host' or some such in preferences, and then it may work better, but you won't get your preset list commatext from the vst object. And I think you can only access 128 presets, just via midi.....

well its a nice synth damn!!. In usine 5 i had a preset shell and i just stored everything in there. I only need maybe 50 good ones. so i disable the select presets from host. Having a usine preset manager shell was working well in usine 5. In hollyhock i am still struggling but i think i will make it work.

new error message i dont understand but is similar to the one i posted above.

error : pgPreset SaveData Out of memory
error : Internal : pgpreset Savedata.

is this still a problem with synth 1? or something else.

synth 1 does take almost 30 secs to load in usine 5 in usine 6 its less maybe 10 secs for me.

woodslanding maybe your right.... damn! i invested alot of time into this synth!

after trying to save a preset with 3 synth1's on separate midi channels through a harmonizer hollyhock croaked
error : pgPreset SaveData Out of memory
error : Internal : pgpreset Savedata.

behavior seems to get sluggish...
then i close and try to reopen and i get

error : InitLoadData out of Memory
internal :initLoadData

now the workspace wont even open and has become corrupted. This has been happening when i try to save presets with a couple of instances of synth 1.

Is it because of what woodslanding is saying? because it maintains 1200 presets per instance and that hollyhock gets overloaded hence the error message?

Perhaps i should only use synth 1 mono and not try to coax 4 instances of it out at a time.

a shame cause this kinda worked in Usine 5 although it probably was causing some grief... long load times.

thanks for illuminating things woodslanding.

i like synth1 cause its light on the cpu...

It's a great sounding synth, and there's a million presets for it.

Try running it using Zen as a sub-host. I recall that worked for me in V5. Zen just had an upgrade to 64-bit. Let me know if it works for you. Zen was a bit unstable for me under v5, so I stopped using it. Although I'm not sure that synth1 ever crashed it.

Can anyone confirm those error messages?

i can't test in the same conditions like you, but if i add this plug-in in a patch and add a preset manager in a workspace, works fine..

My trouble is with 4 instances. What do the error messages mean? Are they related to what woods landing is saying?

I don't know, but we will investigate about memory on this one as soon as we can

but once again, we're in a bug report case here ...?
