Hi
We discussed a lot about the sample player recorder module some months ago without finding a real convenient solution for live sample recording (Usine as a live looper http://www.sensomusic.com/forums/viewto ... d=3541&p=1).
I need to deal with this module live again, and I'm experiencing some strange clicks when I record a loop over a microphone.
The clicks can appear anywhere in the loop (not only at the loop junction)
There are sometimes no clicks (30%)
Clicks seem to appear only in overdub mode (no clicks in rewrite mode)
Clicks can appear at the first loop or on overdubbed loops (no rule...)
I experienced different adjustments (zero crossing etc), different usine block sizes and sound card buffers, even different sound cards, different mics (dynamic, static) without any difference. I run a quiet powerfull hardware config.
I can reach my artistic goal using the RC51 module, so it's not an emergency... But I'd like to be able to run the sampler recorder module correctly, if possible...
clicks with sample player recorder module
you're right, the overdub mode is not zero-crossed during the recording.
you can patch a quick fade in/out before enter in the sample?

Hi Olivier, thanks for replying
The problems I'm experiencing are more clicks inside the loop, and not at the loop junction itself.
It's strange because it's not a crossfade problem (this click at the loop junction was already discussed in the post I mentionned above).
In this case, it's more a numerical click sometimes happening while I'm live recording in overdub mode, anywhere in the loop.
As I always care about the hardware causes I tried to change most of my hardware config to test if it was not responsible, but in any config I still can reproduce the problem.
To avoid any hardware problem, I even put a sample player as an audio source (then no microphone), I still can reproduce.
The thing wich leads me to a software problem is that the problem never occurs when the sampler recorder is in rewrite mode, but only in overdub mode. And the clicks can appear at the first recorded layer.
You in this case you just drive crazy and you want to know if anybody experiences the same problem or if you make a stupid mistake in your patch..................
