Newbie Question- Sample Playback and Point Curve synchronisation
I would like to link the point curve automation on a VST parameter to the sample playback position
I have tried sending the duration via the bus and putting it in loop mode but it does not seem to send the length. I have also sent position data via the bus and put it in button mode, but this only synch it to the first point of the curve.
What am I doing wrong? This is an amazing program that really suits my way of working. I am trying the demo at the moment but will be buying it very soon. Hope you can help.

hello smuff and welcome
there's many ways to patch this, can you upload your example please ?

Something to think about... I think I understand your request.
Within each VST, there is typically a way to tell it to sync to the host's clock.
Once that is done, there are a number of actions you can do to the master synchro that affect both master & VST, such as changing time signatures & resetting the location.

Address the process rather than the outcome. Then, the outcome becomes more likely. - Fripp

I have put the saved example here (above)
@shawnb Thanks for taking the time to respond. Ideally I would just like to synchronise the point curve and the sample play back so that I can place a break point for the VST at a point in the sample. Hope that makes sense and you can open my patch. Many thanks. S

Have you checked "Tempo Sync" in Buffer Override? On your screenshot it looks de-selected.
I think that is an important first step.

It is the point curve that modulates the VST parameters that I am trying to sync with the sample player position. I am not trying to sync the VST to the host. I only put buffer override as an example. Essentially so that it woks a bit like the pitch or volume curve in the sample player but with VST parameters.
Does that make sense?
Thanks again

Ok, understood about the VST.
I think the answer is the same. Both the sampler & the lines modules have synchro settings. Check them out. This might help... You're trying to synchronize two modules, so read up on synchronization.
Once syncd, you may have to approach things a little differently. Like your button may not restart the sampler... You may need to use the << button on the synchro.

Ok got it synced to the master sync. Thanks Shawnb. I did want to sync it locally to the sampler, but for now this is perfect. I have much more to explore and with time I will figure this out. Many thanks for your time.
