the second example works when you press the keboard key 'A' (n? 60).
Insteed of the Keyboard2Midi sub patch Use a Midi in module and choose the note you want to use as a trigger with the 'note' fader.
Maybe the sample file in the sampler is missing on in you computer? Load another one?
