Hi guys,

I work at the moment on an installation with sound and video. My video file in an .avi H264 720x576 and I use a projector (1024x768) with a 4x3m image. If I play the video with the media player, it is very clean, if I play it with Usine, it is dirty and pixelized... Any idea ?

Cheers

PS : I'm in a rush, the opening is on next Tuesday...

The video player is really simple actually and video formats are sometimes complex, maybe the best way is to convert 20 seconds with different resolution /codec and test ?
And maybe use the same ratio in the player and the projector ( for example 1/2 of the projector :512x384 )

also take care about the frame rate.
24fps is the default in Usine but can be changed in the setup/midi in

Hi guys,

I resampled my video to 1024 x 768 wich is the proj matrix, it really improved the quality.

I had another pb, apparently, Usine doesn't seem to like >1go video files, after 1go, Usine stop reading the file and the last part of the video is black. I had to reduce the quality of the video.

Now I have a bigger problem. I use the sampler during the video playback, even in full screen, I have a Usine notification for peak creating, is there's a way to make it not appeared ?

About the peak creating process, generally it's happen only the first time you run a new sample, you'll don't have this notification the next time .

The patch is designed for a 3 weeks exhibition with new samples recorded all along... The solution would be to buy a dual display graphic card but I have no budget and the computer is featured with old AGP an PCI Slots... Has someone ever tried, 2 graphic cards on the same mother board ?

A possible solution might be to play the video from VVVV instead and control vvvv using OSC from Usine? vvvv's a lot more flexible in terms of what video it can play and how you can stream it.

Thanks for the answers, I might try vvvv. At the moment, Olivier has implemented in a new version of Usine the possibility of hiding the messages wich is enough for me.

Cheers
