i saw your example of tabs with text but I couldnt figure out how to do this with patches.

how could i put the rotator part in the first tab with the midi feeding to the 2nd tab note scaler.?

you need to put rotator subpatch and scaler subpatch into a deeper level, see:

i am having a problem with sending the midi to tab 2. My rotator should feed the note scaler. It only works if the notescaler is in the main patch. When i place the scaler in the tab 2 it doesnt get the midi properly. Does turning on the different tabs activate that portion of the patch? I would want the tabs just to be visual access but the mid should flow normally thoughout the patch and subpatches.
i will also upload a screenshot.

2 things here : you tabs don't works here , too many patches and sub-patches, you can simplify this..
the midi in of the tab 2 is not linked to the main midi in, so can't receive midi flux..?

maybe you need a dispatch module who follow the tabs..?
this way when you select tab1, midi in is send to tab1, when you select tab 2, midi in is sent to tab 2 ( if i understand correctly..)

i thought of having this tabbed patch that was a master midi input. Harmonize, force to scale and maybe arp with a preset window that could store for all the patch. Perhaps until I get better at patching i should keep things separate and not try to tab.?

is it possible to have the mx 256 presets on tab 3 work for the whole entire patch?

you have to try but preset manager modules have a target to set ( current/parent/top parent patch )

ok Nay!

yes and now i have a dispatch module controlling the midi flow. I may even build an arp and some other midi tricks in separate tabs.

Do you think it is unwise to have one tab be a preset tab that could store presets for the whole master patch?

BTW having access to geniuses like you is WAY better than the best manual!

is it better to have a preset manager for each tab? one for rotate one for force to scale one for ARP? smaller simpler ones?

not easy to answer on this , always many solutions with Usine, depending of your use.
You can use small presets for each tab and the conductor to store all ?. better is to try for a period
