Above is the basic workspace to show example.
Working on the basics to build an LFO studio, however I am having issues with the "On Top" Parameter.
I have two point curves overlaid, and a Select button to switch between which one is to be edited.
It seems that the response can be inconsistent....anyone experience these problems?
I think this might be a bug.

Hi Nay, the not module was actually what I was looking to use...but couldn't find it at the time (forgot about the search). Unfortunately I am still having the same issue with the not(A) module. Seems I can get myself to have the Select button = Blue curve and the yellow curve is still on top or vice-versa. Now in some cases it would work properly...just after some cycles of back and forth between it would not work as expected.

Here is a screen-shot, as you can see "Select" is yellow, and the curve is actually on the bottom still.
I can get it to work and at times it seems very consistent, however it seems to hiccup and not work and oddly in my current experience is that the states are opposite now "Yellow=blue Curve, etc...." clicking the Select button multiple times after this sometimes resolves the issue.

ok, but is it only a graphic issue or when you select the yellow curve you can edit it..?
cause it's the most important or i misunderstood..?

It seems to be worse when delayed between the two parameters. I injected a delay script in between to see if it was a simultaneous issue or a delay issue.
It seems to be a functional issue rather than a graphic issue, as you can only edit the curve that is "on-top"
I guess I am running into cases where one path is getting delayed and the "On-top" parameter is not reacting properly.
Hopefully this delay allows you to see what I am running into more clearly.

I can't be doing this stuff before I go to work, makes me want to stay home and work with HollyHock all day

Can't reproduce here on an old machine win32 dual core 1.8 , block size 128, refresh speed 50 ms, works fine
maybe some one can confirm ..?
about work, i can understand that !

I have Win64, i5, block size 128, refresh is set to 5ms here. Temporarily using ASIO4ALL to run on this machine just for building, Although I am not using audio.

Although I am not using audio.
but audio engine is running ? ( next version will add the
No audio button)

I am not using audio in what I am doing, purely just looking from a controller standpoint and building interface at the moment.....however you did lead me to a conclusion.
It seems that when the Syncro/Engine is stopped I run into the inconsistencies, where I am not seeing these with it running.

I assume you had it playing when you tested? Curious to find out if you can exhibit the same problems with it stopped?

no, works here with audio On, synchro off and even with audio OFF...
If someone else can confirm on an other machine could be interesting...

seems to be working as expected..i'm also on win7 64 though..tested with engine on/off..

Ok, Thanks a lot Iococoi,
so works for win 32 and 64
now we have to find why it don't work for you sephult..

On Mac OSX when select is Green i can edit only green curve but blue one is still visible and inverse when select is blue.

Thanks a lot , Cmodica,
yes, it's the normal feature, see several curves in transparency and edit each of them

I will try to do some tests and collect some data to figure out what is going on...I am not surprised I am the only one seeing this....I have a knack for experiencing and debugging odd software problems....I always have. I just enjoy it more working on HollyHock
Thanks for your feedback and help everyone! Will get this figured out.

Just want to chime in that I've been experiencing the same/similar problem on Hollyhock OSX.
In my case I have a switch which toggles the colour of panel headers, but the colour won't update properly if the audio engine is paused.

Welcome ynohtna,
the colour won't update properly if the audio engine is paused.
this is normal behavior, when audio engine is OFF, some calculation are not done in patch

Thanks nay, I guess since I have had issues I am just in a building mode prepping at the moment. It does seem to work more consistently with the engine running. I find it strange though a purely graphic "On-top" parameter however is being tied to the calculations of the audio engine. This seems it could use a revamp in coding...curious if I tied a bunch of modules up for "on-top" control..... if this would then affect the audio in anyway or bog down the audio stability? Could this be the case, or is it purely a synchronization?
If this is the case (having the audio engine running) I might want to consider an output disable option when editing....for pre-editing waveforms (preset waveform)....obviously much more fun doing live...but in some cases a user might want to prepare several waveforms first before a performance.
thanks for the help and discussion...very much helpful as always!

in Usine The main audio engine is also the calculation engine, that's why..

Good to know, thanks!
Will these visual updates propagate in the new version when the engine is run with no audio output? (I'm building custom MIDI interfaces.)

of course, no problems in "No Audio" mode with graphics and calculation
