How do you sequence drum patterns?

Just wondered how everyone sequences drum patterns in Hollyhock.
One obvious way is to use a midi sequencer with drum samples loaded in and use a piano roll but this doesn't give much control over the sound.
Using sequins6 or polyplex with a drum sequencer seems more flexible, I've tried a couple of drum sequencers but am really struggling to figure the midi routing for some reason with polyplex, I've specified a midi output but it seems to be outputting a different note to the one I've specified. I wonder if this is something to do with being set up for Reaktor?
Does anyone use this with other drum sequencers or have any alternative tips?
Kind regards,
Andy

Hello,
I put polyplex together I'll take a look at it and see whats going on. Yeah originally it was intended for Polyplex itself, however there should be a way to specify what note to output. Always a different drum mapping for something right?

Modified Polyplex
The problem was the output was limited between 60 and 74 for polyplex range. I have a newer version that still needs an overhaul on it's clock (new clocking I am using).
So the polyplex adds a modifier section in lower key-register. The MIDI Sequencers exist in the CustomSequencerOut Sub-Patch, in here I just opened up the MIDI range for the full key-scale for you. (Then just applied polyphony to the subpatch). I also removed the modifier section so it wouldnt interfer, as it continuously outputs whatever note is selected in the bottom section.
Hope this helps, I have various other sequencers I am planning on releasing sometime in the future, let me know what you are looking for.

Many thanks for your reply Sephult.
I looked at the routing in the original patch to get an idea but am still getting to grips with patching so wasn't exactly sure. Thanks very much for the modified version, I'll have a look at that in a minute.
I'd really like a drum sequencer so I can use drum samples and create my own rhythms, your polyplex looks very good for this. I'm still getting to grips with patching possibilities so need to do a lot more reading before I can start to create some of my own.
Other than drum sequencers I like the random midi generator and am also interested in algorithm based music so anything along those lines would be very interesting, looking forward to seeing what you release in the future.
Kind regards,
Andy

my main sequencers are arGRID and Circleseq and feeding their midi output to d16 drumazon/nepheton, and customized rythmmaker in reaktor (with removed sequencer)

Many thanks drakh.
I really like Circleseq but don't have Battery as shown in the video, can I use it to control other drum synths or the midi sampler? Not sure how to configure the output as it only appears to output one or two midi notes .
Many thanks,
Andy

of course, you can attach to its output any VST not just drum machine
the configuration is on "track" level, you "note"(blue one) knob is for that purpose, you just need to know which drum in your VST listens to which note.
