After a long hiatus, I'm working again on my sampler patch/workspace.
I've found now, that I need to quantize the rec on/off button press on a sampler (such as in Multiplayer X5) to the nearest division of the current tempo.
How can this be made?
Thanks!

in the patch "Samplers/Bar recorder (Sync)" of the library you'll find a subpatch called Quantize Data, which quantize a data flow.
perfect to connect your rec btn ?

Thanks, I'll try it.

I'm not sure if I did everything right but by adding this patch, the performance becomes a bit iffy (crashing).
I'm using Usine VST version in Reaper.
When I try to erase this wire (see link), I get an error in Usine and Reaper crashes.

Actually I had a few crashes yesterday also with no obvious cause.
Not sure if there's something wrong in my setup or Usine doesn't like Reaper or vice versa
So, is the patch correct at least?
Maybe ask around in Reaper forums to see if anybody else is having similar issues?

just try this config with reaper
no problems here..
i can delete without problems and no difference in performance
you said you have some crashes yesterday
so maybe the problem is not here...

OK, good that Reaper and Usine can work together.
But not so good that I don't know what the problem is
I'm not sure how to test it, maybe make the setup as simple as possible and see if that helps?
Right now I have many instruments routed in Reaper to Usine.
Also I have a guitar processor pedal sending MIDI CC-s to Usine (for controlling the rec buttons).
So, I think I'll ditch all of the above, insert just USINE with this Workspace on one track, without any MIDI controllers etc and play with it for a while.
Then...
Is there something in the preferences I can adjust?
I have the dual core optimization on, but I have a quad core...

yes , i think it's the better way to analyse problems , step by step...
about quad core , can't tell you , you have to wait for the boss...

Well, no luck going simple.
I had a crash to desktop without a warning (I was deleting a wire) in about 10 min of working.
So, now I'll try the stand alone version.

Standalone version of Usine works fine.
Seems that only the VST doesn't play well on my system for some reason.

I develop Usine Vst with Reapr, so normally it should work.
By experience I know that you can temporary disable the dual core optimisation, just to see if it comes from this point.
I'll take a look in september (currently I take a summer break...).

Thanks for the tip.
Have a great vacation!
I'll practice my patching until then.

Not sure if you still have problems with this, as the post is a bit old already.
Just wanted to mention that I was trying to do the same (quantize button press) and I found this post by bsork which was exactly what I was looking for:
"You'll find the quantize options both as items on the right-click ("context") menu that pops up for the switches and buttons, as well as a column in the MIDI/Key learn lists for each patch and the global remote."
Hope it helps

Thanks!
My main problem right now is that the VST version doesn't like my system for some reason.
But that's another topic.
