I use a sampler that perform a "save random" after the recording process, but glitches or quick audio interruption are audible during the saving process. i'd like to avoid this, especially during live performance.
How to do?

I have a dual core 2.1 Ghz and I use Asio for all.
I have set the refresh speed to very slow and the problem occur.
i have a sound card latency set to 256 ms. The current bloc size set to 256. Dual Core mode single thread.
Any help appreciated.

Hello,
I Think there is no possibility to save without audio click ( I use an addon loop recorder for long time, and this is the same problem), I dont know if audio click are genered when usine save sample in a file or when usine is creating a peak image of the wave file.
Olivier, is it not possible to keep recorded files in Ram ?
We hope this option, good for us... and others.
Thanks

it's because the save process is done in real time, I mean during the audio thread.
so the alternative is to make it differed, in the graphic thread but in this case wee loose the save speed.
maybe an (other) option in the sampler to choose between both possibilities?

Hello Olivier,
An Other option in sampler to choose a graphic thread is a good idea for us, and what do think to keep files in memory and possibility to save later ?

When you are in "options" dont forget the template sequencer wave player, a general option in usine to choose to play sample in direct to disk or in Ram, for us is better in Ram ( no click audio).
thanks Olivier

option in the sampler is a very good idea !!!
So my question is : how long it will take to save the file?

It's depend of the file size (duration * sample rate * rec format)
and the speed of your disk access (ultraATA, RAID0...)

Hope it help.

Ok.
i've noticed better results if the record directory is set to the same harddrive where usine is locate. Not sure if this little improvment concern my configuration.

Heu... Not sure to understand.

I've only one hardrive but with 2 "partition" named C and D. I've install usine on the D drive and the glitches appears more often when I use the C drive to store the recorded files. I've better results on D drive, even if my directory is not the same as usine directory ( j'utilise la même partition (D : ) qu'usine, mais dans un répertoire différent ).

maybe it's because windows swap is on the c partition.

another thing, if you have two partitions on one disk, one is physically near the center (less speed) of the disk, and the other is near the border (more speed). Maybe for your case, the d partiton is near the border.

hope it help
