Hi people,
I know this is not the right place to post this topic but I could'nt find the right place...

so here is my problem, and it is a huge problem :

Usine does'nt see any of my midi input devices (M Audio midisports 2x2 or fireface 800) while Cubase and Protools do... So I dare say they are properly installed !

I've just downloaded and run the 4.22 notebook optimized version of Usine, but it's the same.

Do you have any idea of what could prevent USINE from seeing those devices ?

Thanks for your help,
I'm getting pretty depressed whith this problem.

strange
I've also a M Audio midisports 2x2 and no problem ,and many users have fireface 800 here..
so it's not this device the problem..
you talk about midi in , what about midi out..?
what OS do you use..?

Strange indeed,

No Midi out neither, (but I just need midi in)
I'm working with Windows XP sp3 on a McBook pro 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. (bootcamp)

I said that Protools and Cubase see them, and I can add that the standalone versions of Pianoteq, Guitar Rig and Kontakt also see them. I'm very much surprised that Usine is the only software not seeing these MIDI devices...

arg , i'm not a specialist about bootcamp..
waiting for a solution , have you tried virtual midi solution like midiox /midiyoke ( if they work in bootcamp )..?

Is it like loopBe 30, just virtual midi ports ?
LoopBe30 used to work on my laptop and USINE. I don't use it anymore since it is no use with usine, but I'll try to reinstall it, to see if Usine can see it .

Ok,
it was all my fault,
Thank a million times nay-seven,
cos your suggestion about the virtual midi ports made me think more accurately and my thinking led me to the idea that the problem was something lacking in the system. And the easiest way of having something missing in Windows XP is to turn off services :-)
I had disabled the "Windows Audio" service, and this was the cause of all my troubles. It does'nt explain why Usine was the solely application not to find midi ports, but you know : Whatever works !

So thanks again to all the Sensomusic community in general and especially to you in particular !
