Hi,

is there a way to record multi channel midi (i.e. I'm sending in on midi channels 1-16, and I want to keep record which notes/cc/pitchbends come in on which channel) , without loosing the channel information?

I search and saw something called midi looper, but couldn't find it.
and I tried with the piano roll, but that appears to not recording the midi channel (or its not outputting it on the midi channel it came in on)

also... in midi piano roll I can see that I can get to the CC curves, but can i get to the channel pressure, or pitchbend curves (again for individual midi channels)

Im ok, with the piano roll not being able to do it... if I can create my own sequencer to record it and replay it (in time).

thoughts?

Mark

Edit: I guess one way around is to create 16 pianorolls with each having its channel filtered to a single midi channel, that then can output into one VST (which can respond correctly to multi midi channels) on a single track. its abit messy but will probably work... is there a tidier way of doing this?

Edit2: another possibility? can I record / sequence OSC messages?

Edit3: unrelated question... is HH2 using multiple threads for midi processing, and placing VSTs on separate threads?
(I tend to use CPU heavy VSTs so putting them in one thread can be troublesome... but I can kind of workaround with VEP5)

my guess would be to record on 4 arrays and increment index for each evenement
one array for time stamp, one for midi type, one for code 1 and one for code 2

ok, perhaps I will look at that, but means no editing (not necessarily a problem) and possibly difficult to replay 'in-time'

thanks
