Hi olivier and others,

I've compiled a list of suggestions here. Most of them are related to Patching, a couple of general suggestions and also a few possible bugs. I will also send them via email, olivier.

Two remarks:
- i must remind you that despite these suggestions i nontheless completely adore usine
- i definately don't want to be asking for features that will cause performance issues, cpu load etc. so, you tell me....

thanks, here comes:

---SUGGESTIONS---

*PATCHING*

- when selecting multiple modules, it is impossible then to scroll the patch view without losing the selection. i'd like a solution to be able to keep the selection and scroll around the patch view.

- there's serious troubles with copy/pasteing modules. i think the pasted modules should appear within sight, not somewhere out of frame. rather they should appear right next to the original or something.

- also when pasteing multiple modules they should definately keep their formation as they were when copying.

- i'd love a "select all modules" possibility.

- also when selecting modules it would be great to be able to "draw an invisible (or visible) box" and all modules contained in that box will become selected. this could perhaps be done by shift-dragging or similar.

- i'm not sure of this but might be handy: to have a possibility to zoom (like in bidule) or to have a small "navigator" window in the patch view to be able to easier navigate complex patches.

*GENERAL*

- when i load my workspace all the mapper value windows pop open and i have to close them separately. i don't like that. also all the loaded vst-instruments pop up at startup although they were closed at time of saving.

- this i'm also not sure of cause i'm quite a fresh conductor-user. but perhaps it could be handy to be able to rearrange the conductor-presets by having "move up" and "move down" kind of buttons. maybe users who have been playing more with the conductor can give their opinion on this.

---BUGS--- (i will also email these)

- when dragging a wire from an outlet of a certain module to the inlet of the same module, it is impossible to delete that wire.

- when you move (drag and drop) a patch from one track to another, the interface of the newly located patch wont update. you need to for example double-click and open the patching view and go back for it to update.

- i'm sensing something badly wrong in 3.22 beta 2. my wild guess is that it's something to do with the new midi engine. since the last update i've got troubles that seem to be simply related to playing vst instruments with my usb/midi keyboard. at some point usine goes a bit crazy giving a never ending show of "error: internal" in the trace window. any idea? this doesn't happen in 3.22 beta 1.

please, guys, shout out if you have comments.
thanks a million

hi, antwan
antwan wrote:- when dragging a wire from an outlet of a certain module to the inlet of the same module, it is impossible to delete that wire.
for this, a solution to delete the wire is to "redo" the connexion once again. In other words, making a connexion beetwen two connector where a connexion already exist erase it.

It's very handy, when you have a lot of connexions in you patch and don't find the little square in a middle of the one you want to delete.

Hope it help

thanks for your suggestions very important for me.
a quick answer;
- when selecting multiple modules, it is impossible then to scroll the patch view without losing the selection. i'd like a solution to be able to keep the selection and scroll around the patch view.
done, next release...
- there's serious troubles with copy/pasteing modules. i think the pasted modules should appear within sight, not somewhere out of frame. rather they should appear right next to the original or something.
I'll take a look.
- also when pasteing multiple modules they should definately keep their formation as they were when copying.
done, next release...
- i'd love a "select all modules" possibility.
done, next release...

soon I hope.
- i'm not sure of this but might be handy: to have a possibility to zoom (like in bidule) or to have a small "navigator" window in the patch view to be able to easier navigate complex patches.
Not so easy to implement. I'll try to find something.
- when i load my workspace all the mapper value windows pop open and i have to close them separately. i don't like that. also all the loaded vst-instruments pop up at startup although they were closed at time of saving.
You have probably saved you wkp with the [show form] switch ON in the mapper data module.
Toggle them OFF and re-save your wkp?
Note: In the next version the [show] switch is turned into a simple button.
- this i'm also not sure of cause i'm quite a fresh conductor-user. but perhaps it could be handy to be able to rearrange the conductor-presets by having "move up" and "move down" kind of buttons. maybe users who have been playing more with the conductor can give their opinion on this.
In the "normal" Conductor window (not the "lite" one) you can change the order by drag and drop on the line number.
- when dragging a wire from an outlet of a certain module to the inlet of the same module, it is impossible to delete that wire.
see the martignasse response.
- when you move (drag and drop) a patch from one track to another, the interface of the newly located patch wont update. you need to for example double-click and open the patching view and go back for it to update.
Yes you're right. I'm working on that bug. It seems strange but it's an hard bug and I have troubles to fix it.
Could you send more informations about that bug: type of the VST, when it append, log file by mail?

thanks again

I have a suggestion related to some of the stuff antwan mentions: An option to create a sub-patch including of the currently selected modules.

Glad I found this thread.

I was wondering if it was just me who couldn't figure out how to do these :)
Especially the "zoom" and scroll when the window isn't full screen.
