Dune 2 stuttering when editing the patches, powerful GPU

I have an issue in HH3. I just switched my performance setup over to PC because I got a more powerful computer. One of my go-to synths is Dune 2. I do like to tweak and edit the patches sometimes. I'm on 64-bit. I can load and play any patches I've already made or any presets from Dune, but if I start to edit them the GUI starts to freak out. The GUI glitches and goes into a stuttering onslaught which does not stop. Any parameters I attempt to edit on Dune become un-useable and do not respond to anything. The only way to get rid of this is to change the patch. Then you can play it but you cannot touch it to edit anything.
I could edit patches in Reaper, save them, and open them in HH3, but that seems silly...
I have a Nvidia 1080 ti, the most powerful GPU currently. It can handle anything so it should be able to handle this!
I have heard that the problem could be that Usine has not selected the 1080ti. I canot find a place to change that though.
What does this issue sound like to you guys? Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi. Have you selected hardware acceleration in general settings? It's been added just recently in version 3.0.139
Also you need to go to Nvidia control panel and add Usine in 3D settings, then set it to use discrete GPU instead of integrated.

Thank you. Let me also add that it appears to be completely related to the use of MIDI Breath. If Breath CC#2 is turned on at all, you get the problem. If MIDI Breath is not turn on on my controller, the problem does not occur.x.iso wrote:Hi. Have you selected hardware acceleration in general settings? I suppose I could use Aftertouch instead of CC#2 Breath to control things from my breath controller, but a lot of my patches are already setup with CC#2 in mind.
I will try your suggestions and report back, soon. Thank you.

None of that GPU/hardware acceleration stuff worked, and correction: It is not related to MIDI breath. The issue is intermittent unrelated to MIDI Breath. What a bummer.x.iso wrote:Hi. Have you selected hardware acceleration in general settings? It's been added just recently in version 3.0.139

Hmmm...
So you turned on hardware acceleration and made sure it's using your Nvidia card? Problem also occurs without hardware acceleration on?mattmarantz wrote:None of that GPU/hardware acceleration stuff worked, and correction: It is not related to MIDI breath. I'll try that VST and see how it works on my laptop.

So I've tried it out on 32bit Usine (and 32bit VST). I saw that as soon as I touched any parameter within VST GUI, it would start to flutter like crazy. Changing preset helps to reset them to rest, but what's more, I found that as soon as I added Usine UI control to any parameter, this behaviour stopped and I can change any value without those glitches.

Oh wow, ok cool thanks for looking into this! I don't know what Usine UI control is though. What is that? Do you mean like adding a virtual knob to the desired parameter, and then using the knob to control the parameter value? Or what do you mean? Sorry, I have used Usine quite a bit but I don't know what Usine UI controllers are.... Thanks!x.iso wrote:So I've tried it out on 32bit Usine (and 32bit VST). Yes, I mean virtual controls (knobs, faders etc) that appear in Usine's User Interface.mattmarantz wrote:Oh wow, ok cool thanks for looking into this! I don't know what Usine UI control is though. Oh ok cool. Thanks for your help. I guess that's gonna be kind of a drag if you've gotta map the whole thing to an entirely different set of knob controls since there are so many parameters on Dune 2, but maybe I can just do it all at once and then save that as a special sub-patched patch for the future! That would be great since I like to edit & save patches all in the same program, especially when setting up workspaces for a gig... I'm glad you found a solution though, thanks for checking that out. I hadn't thought to try that before.

Oh!!! I believe I have also figured out a different, cleaner solution as well! I just tried some stuff and found this: Whenever you first touch a parameter, it seems to start freaking out and behaving wildly. If you just "right-click" that same parameter and click "Midi Forget", it stops flickering and then you can edit that parameter again as many times as you want normally. A strange solution, but it does seem to work. Sweet!
