IB location/sizes not sticking/ patching workflow misunderstanding?

I have encountered something really strange, I think I may be misunderstanding something about the hollyhock patching workflow but I'm confused because I have patched many times in hollyhock before and never have I encountered this issue before

Here's my issue

I am making a patch with a couple sub patches- everytime I setup the locations and sizes of the modules and save the workspace, the size and location settings are not retained the next time the workspace is reloaded. I have tried saving the individual sub patch and still the module position and size settings are not retained the next time the workspace is reloaded- all of the containers and switches return to the upper left hand corner overlapping each other

I have tried this in Hollyhock 2 and 3 and experience the same issue, especially with the Container module where nomatter what size I set it to, the container will always reload to be 21x21 pixels when the workspace is reloaded.

How can I fix this/is there a step in the patching workflow I am missing that will properly save this information?
