hey there
i'm new here so bear with me please..

i am trying to get midi output from a midi sequencer patch in the first line
to a vsti in the second line in the same track
i have enabled rack mode but the vsti midi in registers no midi
i'm coming from more traditional DAW and i'm struggling with a few of the concepts

looking forward

dave

After trying for myself with no luck, I am assuming that midi is not routed between track lines in the same way audio is but in any case you could use a midi bus (in the Buses section of the browser) to achieve the same result. Keep in mind though that there will be a one bloc of latency when using buses to send and receive.
Or perhaps someone has a better answer?

ok and what don't you use the module "send midi to usine" witch send midi signal as it came of outdoor !

I made this comparassion between midi bus/send midi to usine and direct midi out : Image
It seems that midi bus and send midi to usine have the same block delay :(

you have 2 ways here, using a bus system as actually ( but note that your vsti+bus can be in an other patch or track ) or directly link all the midi module to your vsti :

hey nay seven

i tried both
no sound!
strangely with aalto ;)

something's up...

EDIT:
there is no midi leaving the sendmidibus

there is no midi leaving the create midi boxes

there is midi leaving step big and step small

i have managed to use both direct and bus midi paths with just the step sequencer module

several thing you can check :

_main audio engine ON..?

_main synchro ( in the dashboard ) ON..?

_track ON..?

_Track mode..? ( if you have several patches on a track in grid mode , only the selected one is running)

audio is on
can't find synchro - is that restart synchronisation at start of cycle?
track is on
track mode: tried grid and rack

the problem seems to be inside the patches
there is no midi reaching the midi bus from the create midi boxes
in fact there is no midi leaving the create midi boxes

i can build my own sequenced synth patches from the step sequencer module...

thanks for your assistance

mmm, if a step sequencer works , so synchro is ON..
Image
is the step move on the rhombusine patch..?
if not have you check the > switch on the center..?

works with vsti via bus
if i insert vsti into patch
audio outs both go to same channel?
