i'd like to try a sequencer script. i am very much at the beginning, trying to figure out what could be done.

how precise can a sequencer be with fast script? i mean, in terms of having 1/128, or 1/32 steps. in midi terms it depends on the PPQ resolution, i've read.

- how often per second can a midi loop be accessed?
- i also dont understand the use of (sample?) blocksize in senso's midi swing yet (looks like math mojo to me).

before i get ashamed due to lacking knowledge further, i better stop! ;)

do you mean a step sequencer?
with a script you will never have a better resolution than the step module itself, but just the equivalent.

if you need a better resolution, try to set the setup/asio/best bloc size to 32 samples.
This will give you a 0.7 ms precision in all the modules.

tkx a lot for ur reply, senso.
note: bsork helped me with some theoretical knowledge about blocksize and ppq in this thread: http://www.sensomusic.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=1802

i'll try to let Usine modules generate the step impulses.
btw, my dream would be to have a genoqs nemo 'emulation' for the novation launchpad (genoqs makes the best step seqs ever seen). in the best of worlds it could be controlled by a multitouch Usine interface at the same time..

lets see how far i can push this - if anybody (with better coding skills) wants to do it, i'd happily offer beta-test only!
