Hello,

Usine is crashing a lot and each time I have no other solution than restarting my computer...which makes me really crazy!
And it doesn't have a "bug report" every time, actually I had some before but not anymore since a while.
And the very boring thing, is that recently, when it crashes, all my preset in the conductor disappears !!!!!! So I loose all of them or a part of them, depending of the mood of the crash. Luckily I save very often my workspace under different names but still, I loose some of my work.

I also have other questions:

As I use the conductor in work in progress, i want to rearrange it, deleting some preset and reorder them. And i found out today that when I change the order, the preset does not sound like the original one..why?

By the way i would find very usefull to be able to copy/paste preset from the conductor, and as well to be able to navigate through the presets in a non linear way, like having a view of the whole bank (like an enourmous preset manager), with a direct, fast access.

And I also discovered that when you copy/paste a bank in the conductor, if you delete one preset in the copied bank, it also delete the one from the original bank (when i select the preset it makes an internal error), is there an issue for that?

Thank's for your help,

manécante

A quick answer.

- please try send bug reports by mail. It helps me.
- please post suggestion in the suggestion area of the forum, so we can discuss about it.

- Your crash seems to come (sure at 99%) from a vst which crashes the memory. Try to find a ban it from your live set!
- the conductor stores only visible controls unlike the preset manager. So recalling the conductor doesn't ensure to retrieve the original sound, especially if there is a vst's which is modified in your patch.
- I'll take a look on conductor's bugs.

and as well to be able to navigate through the presets in a non linear way, like having a view of the whole bank (like an enormous preset manager), with a direct, fast access.
you can built your own patch for that.. :

manecante, one thought is that if it isn't a bad VST in your workspace, it could be that Usine can sometimes use a lot of memory when working at building patches for a long time. Sometimes if your workspace uses a lot of memory to start, you may need to occasionaly save and exit Usine to refresh the temporary memory used as running out of memory can cause a crash. Also the same for disk space. If Usine is on a disk that is full, and you are building patches for a long time, the disk can overfill and the temp files can fail to write to disk which I have seen cause loss of data.
In regards to running Usine on a 64bit system with lots of memory, I find it best to make Usine Large Address Aware with LaaTiDo ( http://www.musikbanken.se/TechLaaTiDo.aspx )
I hope this helps..

gurologic, I tested your suggestion but unfortunatly , i am on a 32 bits system and when i launch the program it says that Usine is not compatible with this.

For doing this : "and as well to be able to navigate through the presets in a non linear way, like having a view of the whole bank (like an enormous preset manager), with a direct, fast access."

I was on the way to do the patch you proposed Nay but I ended up with another solution.
Simply connect :
- a "pass event flow" to the conductor "num" inlet,
- a fader in the "in" inlet of the pass and a button to the "pass" inlet.
Less work for the same efficiency.
Click the button when you want to send the value.
