One-click control of loopong in sequencer?

Is it possible to create a one-click option for moving from one loop into the next, and possibly also skip a section at the same time?

As far as I have found out, the way to move from looping between one set of markers into the next, is to turn of loop mode, let the sequencer play through the first section, and turn loop mode on again after entering the next section. The next/previous commands in the global remote jumps directly to the beginning of the section which can be ok at times, but not always. I have seen however, that if a loop section has been selected and there are markers between this section and where the playback starts, the sequencer will not start looping before reaching the selected section.

While writing this post, I found out that one can have a sort of one-click (and hold it down) option with the mouse, but I'd rather use a foot switch or a button to achieve this.

I haven't found anything that shows the SMPTE or Bar/Beat info shown in the Dashboard, nor anything that tells that a new marker has been passed. Given something like that, one could construct rather complex possibilities for jumping back and forth between sections.

hello,
take a look on the global remote
'sequencer next loop' F12 (by default)
'sequencer prev loop' F11 (by default)

made for that purpose.

I know about the next/prev loop options, but the problem with them for me (at least when I'm busy playing guitar), is that they jump directly to the beginning of the next/prev loop no matter where in the current loop the sequencer is.

An example - a little bit more complicated than what I was starting this topic with:

I'll have 4 markers: section 1-2 is a looped 4 bar intro, section 2-3 is an 8 bar break, and section 3-4 is a looped main part, while 4-... is an outro.

While looping section 1-2 (for instance somewhere in the 3rd bar), I would like to hit a button or footswitch to turn off the current loop and let the sequencer play past marker 2. Ideally, I would like the next section 2-3 to be played through without me doing anything, and when reaching section 3-4 the looping is turned on again, still without me worrying about the sequencer. When I hit the button/footswitch again, the sequencer plays past marker 4 and to the end. I know I can achieve this with only one more button press than described, but maybe I'm just a lazy bastard..?

Bsork, I thing your idea is great:
we would need a module like the current "synchronization" module, but more specific to sequencer data, to have access to "current sequencer time" (inlet outlet), "current sequencer bar, beat" (inlet outlet), "marker number" (inlet outlet), "go to next-previous" marker, etc...
That would allow funny things...

Some more work for Olivier, who's already working hard on the random ice cream generator!!!

Actually there is no way to do that.

I've just implemented a 'continue' button:
plays the current loop to the end and passes to the next loop.
The sequencer module will arrive soon.

Thanks to bmoussay for explaining better than me, and to Olivier for all his great work!

The continue will be nice when the audience starts throwing various objects and I realise it's about time to exit that tired old 4-bar loop and finish the song...
