wondering if anybody has experimented or managed to get faster clicks from touchscreens or mouse?
ive built a little ableton live clip launcher but the fastest i can trigger stuff is somewhere between 16th and 8th notes,, was wondering if anybody has tried any tweaks to speed up response time of clicks,,
any idea's would be greatly appreciated,, is this something i can acheive with some of the mouse/usb polling options or something that is limitation of mouse/touchscreens?
or maybe im just using a cheap toucscreen with poor response time

would be dope to be able to fire off samples and trigger sounds as fast as i could on say a launchpad or apc,,

Unfortunalely I don't know any tip to speed up touch-screens.
I have 3 touch screen and they are all equivalent (in speed) to the mouse (which is 20ms)
but maybe the latency is caused by the MIDI chain from Usine to Live?

What options do you have in the touchscreen driver or setup software? Maybe the touch detection threshold is set too high? Mine has various polling times, filter and smoothing options that I had to play with a little to get things the way I wanted. As far as triggering stuff goes I've never noticed any real latency for touching buttons switches etc., more for dragging the mouse pointer etc...

I was thinking the same about latency with touch screens, I built an mtmini to test the touch speed response and sometimes it gave me good results with a percussion patch inside usine. So I must conclude that touch is potencially faster than mouse. Just my 2 cents.

thanks for the info guys,
my touchscreen uses egalaxy software/driver,,not to many settings but im gonna check again and see if i get anywhere
i think however that the response time is perhaps good,,
it seems i can click really fast on a button say triggering a drum sound, the first 2 are quick, after that there's a little pause and then 2 fast ones, pause and pattern like that,,, so now im thinking that maybe at driver level its detecting a double click? and maybe pausing for a tiny bit after that then back and such... does that make sense?
i do have double click option in usine disabled,, gonna hunt for updated drivers,, will let u guys know if i get anywhere,,
