I am just wondering if anyone else is having problems keeping interface items "snapped" in place. In my experience they simply do not stay where they are left especially when the interface is unlocked. Usine shines in all other areas but when it comes to this it is IMO almost impossible to work with without getting frustrated. Please share your thoughts or advice. thanks.

don't know exactly in wich case you have this problem ,but maybe edit layout on the panel ( or container ) and disable auto resize..?

well the best way I can describe it is when editing individual items within a subpatch in a track cell it takes 2 to 3 times to snap an item in place. I have the grid visible and set to 8. I can move the item to the grid line but when i let go of the mouse it snaps the the line below. it seems like the item has to be exactly on top of the grid line in order for it to snap which makes it tedious. I am more used to a "magnetic" snap as used in most other softs.

so, maybe try a smaller grid size and disable auto resize in a first time could help you , you can also click in the grid to reorganize some elements ( depending of the grid size )

In related news, I've found it impossible to move items with sub-items inside them without losing all the relative arrangements of the objects.

There is definitely a bug in the way the snapping works, at least with nested layouts. I have auto-resize disabled, and grid set to 4. If I take one of my mixer channels full of controls and move it, it looks perfect, but as soon as I release the mouse, the objects within it move randomly to different neighboring grid positions..... It seems pretty random too--I get a variety of results with identical layouts....

it's the snap to grid option. Set a grid size =1 to disable it.
