Bounce To WAV

Howdy-
I'm wondering if folks have any good advice on how to best record exactly a bar or cycle to a WAV file to make it simple to manage on the sequencer? To date I've been connecting a 'keyboard learn' to a bar-quantized button and the record button. This works out OK but if I'm missing a simpler trick, I'd love to know it.
