I would like to allow my synth player to change VST presets on the fly. How can I, for instance, use an external midi controller to send a command to change a vst's current preset (let's say a bass sound) to another preset (for instance, a synth lead). also, I'd need to be able to change vst banks, as well.

Thanks,

Todd

depending of your VST, some accept classic midi message, some not ( specially for bank change)

Thanks, Nay7. I'm currently working and unable to try them out. I know this would be asking a lot, but could you send me a pic of the .pat in action?

OK, so I still haven't tried these options out yet, but looking at the picture, it seems that I'd only be able to switch presets in the n ± 1, linear fashion. so, my question is how could I change presets from, for example, a bass set at preset position 1 to a saxophone set to preset position 30?

i've a solution with the key numpad but with midi controller, not the same
Or will need 2 actions : one fader or increment button to choice then a second action to valid..is it possible for you ?

of course if you have a fixed list, you can use a simple combobox and edit it this way:

preset1=12
preset2=30
preset3=45
preset4=60
