Hi there! :)

I'm proposing the creation of an all synthetic drum set for Usine, by using elements available inside Usine, that is, filters, oscillators, synthesis pack, etc.
My initial contribution? I just made a very quick dirty drum set with many SYN_FM patches from synthesis pack v2

UPDATED VERSION!

It consist in kick, snare, hihat open, hihat closed, floor tom, cymbal 1, cymbal 2.

The patch owns just 1 midi in, 2 audio outs and an instrument mixer. Each sound is assigned following the GM standard for drums.

Anyone wish to improve this? or maybe propose another different approach.:cool::cool::cool:

Cool floego ! good start !
maybe you can use container ( visible option) more than the where option, cause here when you switch to each patch, they're not on the same place...?

Gave this a spin but get an error "The container module doesn't exist" continuously... It still makes some sounds but the interface is weird and it slowly grinds my machine to a halt trying to put the voice interfaces somewhere? I'm using v5.8.6 so not sure what's happening here?
Good idea though!

Yes, I have a problem with the position of the synths, they all are into a container but it just can't keep the same place. I'll try to fix that.

I'll change many items of the interface.

The message "the container module..." is showing occasionally when the bloc size is smaller than 128, but don't know the reason yet. Maybe the container module can't load quick enough. I'll symplify many items inside the patch and hope to get this fixed soon.

Thanks!

Cool - I wasn't aware the bloc size can affect the GUI, I'll change it to 128 and have another look...

That's a really cool idea! Thanks Floego for that patch!

I noticed that the kick sound is from time to time starting with a "clic", but not always. I guess that it is because the sound doesn't always "start" at the begeinning of a cycle?
Is there a way to control that without having to change the attack time to something a lot bigger?

tanabarbier, thank you for trying! I modified the kick drum , so no more click!

[large]I have a new version![/large]

A new simplified interface (thanks Nay-seven for helping with the containers!)
Now you can use the mouse and (hopefully) touch!

Hello Usiners!
It's a new version of the synth drum :):):):):)

[large]HERE!!!!!![/large]

Redesigned interface and added resonators to each instrument.
Btw, the size of the patch has increased only because of the addition of 4 preloaded presets. ;)

I was thinking of adding some more Fx (like delay, distortion, compressor, EQ) but maybe wouldn't it better to give each part it's own audio outlet?? that is, 7 stereo out channels?? what do you think people?

Hi everybody,

As I spended some time trying to use usine for synthesis I came up with a few doubts:

-Is it possible to implement a FM module that would really work? I have the feeling that because of bloc size the frequency modulation isn't quite a flow but really more like audible steps, and even with the lowest bloc size.

-Is it possible to have a envellope moduled pitch for an OSC? I'ts actually the same problem that for the FM, I think, but it does'nt seem to work and that would be a greeaaaat way to synthesize drums !

Is there a limitation that is impossible to overcome with the way Usine is right now about those stuffs?
