Is there a way to overwrite a recorded sample with zeros on the fly?
In detail:
I record some seconds of music with the sampler.
Is it possible to set this file to zero sound, so that I can record on parts of it in overdub-mode and the rest of the sample is empty?
Let's say I have a sample with a length of 5 sec. I wanna set it to zero with no sound in it. Then I wanna overdub from sec 2 to sec 3. So I have 1 sec of recorded sound. But the rest should be emty.
I had this strange idea to solve the problem of undo and redo in a looper.
I'm not really satisfied with the existing solutions, since I often had sync problems when trying out...
I think this would solve the problem for me...
overwrite a sample with zeros
Actually, don"t see a solution to set a file to 0 sound, but maybe you can record xx seconds of silence and then us the append record mode..?
Ok, that's the answer I expected
But I was hoping a bit that there is a posibility to access the recorded file via IML and set it to zero by a script...
I have to think about your suggestion. I haven't thought about this yet.
Thanks anyway
