preset manager recall
perhaps this screenshot can help give an idea.
The long term solution is larger preset managers... but maybe there is a short term fix
perhaps some kind of dispatcher module... so i could with a button selected choose which preset manager i can control with the 12 step toggles module
I've found this old patch which can be a start,
you'll have to change the target of each preset manager, but can maybe suit your need

i tried the above. I have to test if it works. it seems to at first glance.
thanks Nay for your patch i will check this also.
in the preset manager that you just gave me do i put my patch inside of it? It is a kind of shell ?
yes, i suppose you can , depending of the target you choose for the preset manager modules
I have found that when using your preset manager patch and changing the target to workspace that it is taking me up to 15 seconds with a white screen flash before the patch successfully switches. I wonder what could be causing this sluggishness.
i suppose its due to the complexity of one of my patches which is a midi harmonizer with lots of internal subpatches it is getting bogged down. Too bad cause in Usine 5.80 the conductor could handle this task quite well.
I can't explain cause i can't reproduce it here...
if you can create a simple workspace where you can reproduce it, you could add this to the bug report page..?

Yes of course. That is a logical way of going about it.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Is there a way for a rack or patch to ignore the workspace preset manger?
No, not yet
i also find that when i reload the workspace the presets are lost. reloading a workspace is starting from scratch.
in the 1.00.237Is there a way for a rack or patch to ignore the workspace preset manger?

i found that this 128 preset manager that you gave me Nay works until you reload the workspace then the presets are lost.nay-seven wrote:I've found this old patch which can be a start,

Has anyone else found this?
THe basic preset manager works and remembers the presets after a reload but not this larger one.
I hope that some larger preset managers come soon.
In the meantime i will explore the grid.
A new preset manager with 32 presets comes in v 237

32?
Is there a reason the number is still so low?? 128 is the midi standard..... I use 256 presets for kontakt in my V5 wkp currently, and may need to move to more as I'm about out of slots. Most synths have support for 500 or more. But I wonder why there even needs to be a limit? Max puts no limit on how many presets it can store......
I guess if there is a reliable script to piggyback them (which it seems there is not yet) it doesn't matter.
But it would be nice to see the multiple options for size we get with arrays, etc. And nice to use just one PM when you need presets for something.....

+1 for more than 32
I think 128 would be nice. That would meet my needs
This is my main stumbling block in hollyhock so far.
Although I am going to also try to work with smaller workspaces and switch between them.

Hi,
don't forget usine is mainly designed for live and organic process in live conditions, as a musical instrument.
Too much presets often kill spontaneous live interactions in gigs and avoid flexibility.
I believe too much recall memory can strangly be a limitation in most of the different uses.
But certainly it depends of the way you use the software, agreed.
