Hi,
I've done this simple patching with Midi loop (midi out go to corresponding midi in) to try understanding midi flows inside a rack :

Image

I've set in1 ch1, in2 ch2, in3 ch3.
So the messages sent from rack 2 are mixed together and all sent to the three midi out, that's it ? No way to send each out to the corresponding device ?

About rack 1, it's the same : the messages in are mixed together ? How can I - lets say - send midi in 1 to patch 1, midi in 2 to patch 2 etc... ? Filters only ?

So at last, in order to avoid mixing messages together, it seems simpler to use midi buses inside each device, instead of puting the devices in the racks ?

Thanks for your advices

We're looking for solutions about the midi flux, but yes, in this case filters ( with different channels), or using the Midi buses are the best way

I've tried buses inside devices, it works fine. I've noticed the midi to usine module is needed to keep the midi learn abilty.

Here's another legal routing example... Image

I'd went and saved a ton of Kontakt presets in .fxp format, which I later realized were all set as channel 1. Yet I want them to be played with any MIDI channel, in this case, for example.... '6'. Rather than going back and changing (and resaving) all presets to 'omni', I just added a 'midi transform' in my midi device for each channel, changing them all back to channel 1 before they enter the 'CH 6' bus. So that's 16 channel 1's going to separate busses. ;)
