I'm not sure I understand how these modules work. I'm expecting that they should send a trigger (that's a 0-1-0) when the master Play on/off is turned on but this does not happen. Can someone enlighten me?

Thanks.

Scott

Hi ahonoe,

On activation works for me, the initialize I believe is only when the patch first enters the workspace calculation.
I am not sure what use, maybe "if patch added then trigger all other modules to re-sync"....or something like that.

The manual has the case use for the activation, it looks like the Audio Engine, play button and I think calculation. I did see a transition from 1 to 0 each time the play or audio engine was triggered...but a 1-0 transition. If you wire the output to a thru and watch the wire you can see this....maybe this is why you did not see it work is because you had wired and viewing differently.

Just searched the manual-wiki bar above and put in search box and came up with these.

I haven't had any personal use for these modules yet...but now you are going to have me thinking :)
Hope that helps!

I am fond of the On Activation module for triggering actions when a patch is well.. Activated :) One example would be to trigger a preset manager when the patch is activated. In my setup, I use multiple root clones of a patch template within a rack which are activated/deactivated remotely via MIDI. It is very handy to be able to trigger actions when the patch is activated, especially when doing such things as sending MIDI messages to external gear.

Thanks for the use example gurulogic!

When activating and de-activating, what types of midi messages do you send? I can see the usage for this and i do have some external gear I am working with...I guess I just haven't found my use of it yet :)

You have me really curious.
