i want to put a feedback knob on the patch
i go into the delay and panner subpatch
connect a data in to the feedback
but a feedback input doesn't show on the subpatch
am i doing something wrong?

have you click on apply polyphony in the settings panel...?

Simple Answer:
So when you apply an object within the sub-patch it becomes part of the sub-patch's current control panel.
In order to view it on a higher level, you need to change the hierarchy level by using the where option in the settings panel for the object.
If you right click the knob module you added in the sub-patch, select the "eye" icon and locate the where option.
Depending on your level of the subpatch you might need to set this to parent control, or top-parent control to make it visible to the Rack/Patch interface.
Also as Nay was saying, if this sub-patch is a Polyphonic one, in order to apply these changes you need to apply and reset the polyphony from the main sub-patch module's settings panel.

Basically it depends on how you are using the Delay, how you are setting your "where" options for display, and applying polyphony if it has it.
In the case it is Polyphonic, this might possibly be what you are looking for:

Alternately you can always use a data in path, by dragging and dropping the wire....instead of selecting Knob from the contextual menu use a data in
Then you could back out of the subpatch and wire and create a knob on the top parent (which is your main Interface panel and the highest hierarchy).
As Nay said however, if the sub-patch is polyphonic, you will see multiple numbers in the main sub-patch indicating how many iterations of the delay there are.
Say...if you have a delay sub-patch that has 4 polyphony (4 delays), and you access the sub-patch and add a knob for feedback....you will then apply and reset the sub-patch and 4x the knobs will appear. If you want to control the same feedback level for all 4 delays with 1 knob, you would do the Data in as I stated...select "once in poly" for the data in and add one single knob outside of the sub-patch.
