In the browser under 'Light' there is an array smoother that offers both attack and release smoothing rates. I have replaced all of my standard 'smooth' modules with this one, setting the array size to 1. I like the improved control and the behavior feels more intuitive to me.
The attached image shows how I set it up and an example of the result.

I had a go and I found out you don't need the array modules, just plug the LFO direct in the input.
