Hi,
I'm new to Usine and not used to modular software aswell.
I've seen a video about Usine where a multitouch field was shown that controlled a synth. I think it was called "Ball Synth" or similiar.
You could play chords and also glide from left to right. Can you glide over the full key range with this, like you can do in some smartphone- and tablet-synths? Where you can glide over the whole keyboard, constantly changing the pitch?
Or was it just the regular pitch mod function, that pitches only up to 1 octave up or down?
If there isn't any "full glide" controller like this available - is it possible to make one?
I've read that it's not possible to make a full glide keyboad via MIDI, since MIDI doesn't support exact pitch values like 417 Hz for example.
Synth apps on smartphones and tablets can do it because the synths directly communicate with the screen. Not via MIDI.
Can Usine do this aswell? It natively supports multitouch, so it should be able to do the same? Or am I mistaken?
Is it possible to have a glide touch-keyboard?

If you combine pitchbend and portamento on the synth (if it supports it) you may be able to produce a continual slide that is reasonably smooth. The coordinate output parameters of a Usine graphical module would be mapped to midi note / pitchbend. The handover between one midi note and the next is the critical bit. A script might be easier than patching the whole thing. Sorry I don't have time at the moment to try it out ...
