Hi,

I am having a small problem where my racks which are functioning with auxiliary sends are reloading with the wrong levels and in different orders than I saved them when I reload projects.

For example, I have a .vst synth sent to chorus, delay, and reverb. Each FX track has its own rack with the chorus, reverb, and delays set on their own racks, respectivaly.

All of my synths are set to different spots on the grid to be recalled via MIDI footswitch.

When I save the project and reload it, the "sends" are often out of order and have the wrong levels, different than I saved them. The "stereo out" knob is often at the wrong level too. For example, if I have the synth at "stereo out 0.0db", the Chorus at "-10db", the delay at "-18db", and the reverb at "-15db", when I reload the track the stereo bus is often at the bottom of the sends and the levels are all mixed up.

I cannot seem to fix this.

Any ideas?

Matt

Could you upload your work space or demonstration patch so we can see?
I think I know what you mean, but i'm not duplicating at the moment (probably not the right way).

Sure.

Here is how I want this particular patch to be, this is how I programmed it:

Now, this is the way that the patch often reloads after I have saved the project, closed it, and reopened it:

Image

As you can see, there are several things different (and wrong) about the 2nd photo, which is how this patch reloads in the session after I save & close the workspace including:

1. The FX sends are now located before the stereo out levels instead of after the stereo out levels.
2. The order of the FX sends routing is different.
3. The levels of all the FX sends are incorrect.
4. The levels of the stereo outs of this patch have been unwantedly changed to -15.0db. This makes the whole thing much quieter!

What is happening here? Am I doing something wrong while creating the patch or saving it? Does the fact that these are saved on a grid section for MIDI footswitch patch recall triggering matter? Maybe I am not saving it correctly or something... I am just pressing "save" and then the workspace appears to "save." But something is getting corrupted.

It doesn't happen on all of the patches I have saved in my workspace, just some of them. I need it to run smoothly though so I don't have to re-tweak all the FX sends levels each time I open the workspace before a gig or practice session.

Driving me nuts! Please help.

Nobody else has experienced this? I'm on OSX Sierra 10.12.5 using Usine Hollyhock 3 if that helps....

As said Sephult, we need a workspace, not screenshots, can you reproduce this with only Factory Usine patches and sounds? no VST or external sounds, a simple as possible workspace? thanks
will try it in Sierra

I am a Windows x64 user,

I was unable to duplicate with what I had.
Nay is correct, not much clue further if there is no work space or patch to see what is being setup.

Sorry guys, I've been abnormally out of picket of my studio! I'm visiting the parents this week. I will provide some more detailed photos of the workspace and stuff later for sure! Thank you so much for your efforts.

Cheers,
M

Don't worry Matt,

I am totally in same boat, major studio re-org here...just started back to work after medical leave for 1.5 months...wanting to get my groove back. Really wanting to.:)

Hopefully (i am soo hoping), to have my studio back by this weekend (if I don't keep breaking nice computer monitors and stuff like that...soo mad..haha).

Well talk to you soon, I'll do what I can to try and duplicate anything here...just get Nay and I the workspace so we can definitely try to reproduce based off your setup.

Later!

Hey Sephult ~~

Sorry for my delay, and thank you for your willingness to assist me with this strange problem.

I replied to your emails that were sent, but I am pretty sure the emails I sent did not go through. I couldn't tell how to use the response form. It kept coming back with a message that the emails had not been sent.

Anyways, I'm back in the saddle here and I'm looking forward to figuring out this issue. This continues to be a problem for me. Routinely, when I re-open this workspace file, I get racks loading up with the wrong aux-send levels.

Basically, on my solo sounds (which are what make up the majority of the patch racks in this workspace), I tend to go with the following FX routings:

Chorus -10
Delay -18
Reverb -15

Often, racks that were saved with those settings will load up with the wrong send levels, levels that I didn't save them at.

Obviously this is a pretty simple setup, and this is mostly just for my solo sounds although there are a few racks that are chord-triggered. The EWI can only play one note at a time so sometimes I use MidiChords or MIDI Harmonizer to create polyphony.

Mainly, moving forward, as my workspaces get more complex I want to understand why my FX sends are loading up in the wrong order and with the wrong levels so I can either fix the problem or know how to avoid this issue in the future. It may be my fault, and if so, I want to understand what I'm doing wrong. I'm not outright calling it a bug, although it could be! I'm using basically all 3rd party plugins as synths & FX, so you never know how they will interact with your DAW positively or negatively.

Here is the link to the workspace. Let me know if this works! http://www.sensomusic.com/forums/upload ... onment.wkp

All best,
Matt
