Hello, just some infos about actual development of the VST version.

As we discussed before we have two main possibilities:
- a lite one so you can use several copies of Usine into your favorite DAW
- a complete one so you can take advantages on the routing possibilities, midi learn, etc, of Usine but heavy....

But finally I found a third solution which is a kind of mix of both. I try to explain.

1) Usine appears as the complete version.
2) you can have several copies of Usine VST in you DAW but in fact there is only one Usine loaded in memory.
3) Each VST in your host is associated to a particular in/out of Usine:

for example,
*the 1st UsineVST sound goes to in1(LR) and then come out from out1(LR)
*the 2sd UsineVST sound goes to in2(LR) and then come out from out2(LR)
....

Code: Select all

DAW----> UsineVST1---> Usine In1---->Usine Out1 ---> returns DAW
   ----> UsineVST2---> Usine In2---->Usine Out2 ---> returns DAW
I hope I'm clear...

What are benefits of such a solution?

- Usine can receive all tracks from your host at the same time, so you can make unbelievable routings, side-chain FX, etc.
- Only one Usine is really running so less CPU load,
- you can make real surround in a stereo host,
- its a kind of mix between VST and Rewire...

I like this solution!

i agree...but then a question arise: will UsineVST 1, 2, 3 be simple bridges to the main Usine (in which we'll set up channel 1, channel 2, etc, with a single GUI) or they will have their own modular environment (so each instance would act as a FX chainer like Energy/Chainer/Bidule and so on?) maybe this second option was the lite one...

Also, in the first case how many in/out there will be?

Happy coding!

Ciao,
Goyya

there are like bridges but with automation...
you will be able to load 10 UsineVst instances (20 tracks)

yesterday evening a thoyght and a question came to my mind...

Thought: if i understood correctly,Usine VST will allow ten stereo UsineVST - say i need five more...would it be possible to load more, just opening a second Usine instance, and route the five more Usine VST to it? (maybe just having Usine.exe, Usine1.exe - have a feeling i'm simplyfing a little bit too much!)

Question: if i have a "bridge" in an insert slot, and i click the button to show the GUI of the effect, will it open a specific window or the full Usine one (i imagine this last option)

Ciao,

Francesco

Hello just trying Usine in Fl studio , is it supposed to run only as a VST effect ?
Or will it be available as vst instrument as well ?

Note : talking about compatibility it is running fine on Vista home premium .

Congrats, Olivier!

I didn't think I could be happier with the VST version, but now I can't wait for this.
