I really like Usine, but had to abandon it at version 2 due to the following crash.
My workspace is 29megs, when I create 12 presets in the workspace manager preset, the program
crashes on save. I periodically look back in to see if latest versions will not crash but they always do.
Are 10 or more global presets on big workspaces always going to be impossible?

29 mb does not seem big to me. Mine runs 600mg to a gig. I notice that presets typically take up a lot of memoryl However, I had 256 global presets on a 500MB wkp at one point. It did load a whole lot faster when I deleted them, but it didn't crash.

I am saving presets to text files now, as I don't need to save every detail of my wkp. But that's a whole can of worms.

Have you looked at the memory usage in the task manager? It's possible you are running out of memory, although that seems unlikely....

if it's same old wkp, then maybe it's corrupted and that's why it gets error regardless of Usine version?

and you could have save your workspace with some errors...

best to try is load the workspace, making sure the audio engine is turned off, then swithc off all the racks.

then turn on each rack one at a time to find the culprit !

it could be a stuck reverb or delay, a loop that generate some DC (very bad for reverb, delays and filters...)

take courage !

Also, when opening workspace made in older version, it's best to recreate the modules that changed.

thanks for the tips. I will throw some more time at the newest version. I want to move back to Usine,
currently using a very precarious mix of MainStage Bidule and Vezer for the automation timeline.

Im basically trying to setup a monolith patch for an entire set to avoid any gaps between pieces, as I was never able to get the dual workspace to work without glitches.

Also Is it possible to use the preset manager to jump to different sections of the grid?
