Forgive me my ignorance, but I'm trying to use one of the kids' Wiimotes with Usine, but I can't make it do anything. I'm pretty sure it's not Usine's fault, cause whatever I do I don't get any avaiable services when using the Bluetooth connection wizard. (I'm not quite sure if "service" is the right word in English, my OS is in Norwegian.)

Do I need to install some other program to make this work? I get Windows to recognize the thing as a "Human Interface", but it's not showing up as active and nothing is transmitted between the PC and the Wiimote. :(

I've forget how to do , but you have to activate something on the wiimote when using the wizard. The led's of the wiimote have to light at this moment. Try a search on google, or ask to nay-seven, I''m sure he know how to do !

from what i remember when it I used with glovepie, you have to make "detect bluetooth peripherical" and press the booth 1 and 2 buttons on the wimote that should be blinking then (or alternatively the sync buton wich is under the battery cover).
I remember it was hard to connect. after a while the blink stop and sometimes windows hasn't detected it yet so the trick is to press 1&2, lauch detect, after 10s relaunch 1&2. then it should be added in bluetooth peipherical. I don't have the wiimote here so i can't test, but then you have to activate something in the proprieties of the wiimote (something like enable hid or stuff like that..)
then it should be ok... Also some people use bluesoleil ext app, but not necessary. sometimes it worked the first time and other I had to reboot so it's a bit painful, but when it's connected, it should stay connected, and that's really fun.

Im so waiting testing it with usine, it was already great with glovepie ( i made a teknoliveset in a forest in front of a10kw soundsystem only with the wiimote and it was really exiting crossfading left/right, cut the bass low/top ect! really drive the sound) but quite boring to setup in glovepie...
in usine that must be much more fun.
good luck.

ps: I find the inside accelerometers are not so accurate and can jump also they're not true gyroscopes, there must be a high computation of all incoming sensor by the wii to have a true 3d interpretation, but with only an infrared led (make your own or buy a cheap bar), the visual tracker is very performant, you can get the value dot1x to control very fastly and precise items like crossfader, or make a mouse pointer ect.. and it can track up to 4 dots but from my experience I had better results with only one led, and making shift functions with buttons/nunchunk if needed.
hope it can help

I found my wiimote back!
so its's as I remembered, very hard to connect. I first failed many times, and only got one time the buttons sending but now it works great, connected the fist time with bluesoleil. waow that look really nice in usine...
unfortyunately luesoleil is not free but the demo let you try with 2mbit of data then it cuts and have to reconnect..

edit: arf now it doesn't connect, truely hard poker play!

Thanks for the info, guys! I will try again tonight or tomorrow night.

I may have stumbled upon a reason for the strange and semi-random behaviour of Windows when I shut down the machine last night: One of the many open windows I had was actually a half finished Bluetooth setup wizard. But it was too late to try again...

As I can remember, you have to press buttons 1 and 2 at the same time during few seconds to start the recognition procedure from the PC.
Then, the PC will be able to detect the wiimote.

Always about the wiimote... Does anybody know if there's an upper limit for the number of Wiimotes used on the same PC ?
And in Usine, can we use several instances of the "Wiimote module" without conflicts or problems ?

interesting, with two wiimote and a simple patch we could have a true 3d IR led tracker (one for XY, one for YZ)
(controlling XYZ in a virtual cube) it was possible in glovpie, only one wiimote here so can't test with usine...

As I can remember I think that the maximum on wiimote is 4.

maybe this is about this ..:

"Works with MS BT-stack and Windows Vista/XP

if you don't have the XP stack follow this tutorial to use it."
